Ron Pompeo - Athletic Director Since being named Director of Athletics in 2006, Pompeo has overseen a pattern of unparalleled success for all of Providence School’s athletic teams. The Stallions have proved to be one of the top athletic programs in Jacksonville and is known throughout the state of Florida. We are proud of our past and the men and women who have shaped our foundation. We will build on the rich tradition of Providence school athletics, that includes many great athletes and coaches.
Providence also has extending its reach by playing host to numerous District and Regional Championships. We feel we have great facilities and our goal is to create a first class environment to lend support to our teams while maintaining a safe and fun atmosphere for visiting teams and fans.
In addition to his leadership role at Providence School Pompeo has been selected district director by the Florida Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. And holds a seat on the FHSAA Representative Assembly.
Mr. Pompeo is a native of Massachusetts, attended Boston University where he earned a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Education Degree. While enjoying playing soccer for Boston University. He currently lives in Orange Park area with his wife Karen and son Regan, while Katie is attending University of Florida and Jackie a graduate from Florida State and working in Speech Therapy and David an Auburn University Graduate working in financing.
Gigi Bistro - Assistant Athletic Director Coach Bistrow has been involved with athletics at Providence since the onset of the school. She started the girls’ basketball program and in the fourth year of the school stepped in to help in the Athletic Director’s office. Coach Bistrow has been working in this department now for 7 years. She assists in the handling of communication and daily on goings of the all the sports. Along with working in the athletic department she has remained the Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach. Coach Bistrow is married to her husband, Jimmy and has 4 children: Ana Marie, Jo, Belle, and Guy.
