Head Coach: Gigi Bistrow

GIGI BISTROW/HEAD VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH

Coach Bistrow is now entering her tenth year at Providence.  Building this program from its inception has been very rewarding seeing this program grow into a competitive team not only in district play but also in the Region. In the 9 previous seasons the Lady Stallions have advanced to post season play 7 times.  Coach Bistrow has twenty-five comprehensive years of coaching, 18 as a Head Varsity Coach.  After 5 years of building the girls program at St. Thomas Aquinas in Ft. Lauderdale, Coach Bistrow joined the staff as an assistant in the inaugural year of the UNF Women's Team.  She then assisted at Bishop Kenny for three years, returning to the head coaching ranks for a 1 year stint at Episcopal. The enticement and excitement of Providence opening led Coach Bistrow to leave Episcopal and take on the task of starting and building the girls’ basketball team here.  After 9 completed years, she is enthusiastic about the progress of this program. Celebrating a decade of Lady Stallion basketball has been challenging and invigorating as this program only moves forward every season with the quality of young ladies that step on the court. Compiling a 234-152-career win/loss record (143-101 at Providence), Coach Bistrow works hard to push her players to be the best they can be. With strong convictions to helping develop both physically and spiritually, Coach Bistrow demands accountability from those who play for her.  Her players dedicate themselves completely and whole-heartedly. They commit and strive to become not only the best player they can be, but also to carry themselves in their everyday lives as ladies with strong Christian character.
