Mini Stallion Cheerleading is a program designed to get young girls in grades Kindergarten thru Fifth Grade excited about the cheerleading experience. Coaches strive to teach girls the Biblical meaning of being a leader. The class meets each week and is divided into two age levels. Kindergarten-Second Grade meets on Thursdays and Third - Fifth Graders meet on Fridays. The girls are given instruction in cheerleading motions, chants, cheers, simple dance routines, and jumps. The cheerleaders are taught the importance of stretching, exercising, and maintaining physical fitness. They learn balance, timing, rhythm, and rhyme. The girls cheer at several football and basketball games and also perform in chapel service. Coach Rue, says, “ I am excited about the Mini Stallion Cheer Squad as a way to bridge the gap between upper and lower school”. The program is all year long with performances throughout the year.
