Violin: Two levels of Suzuki violin classes are held each week during the school year. Parents have the opportunity to learn to play the instrument along with their children. At the end of the school year, the two classes combine for a joint recital to share what they’ve learned with friends and family. We work hard and have a good time!
Acrobatics: Lower School Acrobatics is taught after school by Melissa Pennington. The class is offered to all K – 5 grade students in 2 groups; K – 2 meets 2:40 – 3:30 and 3 – 5 meets 3:30 – 4:30. Students learn basic tumbling moves and progress to more advanced moves like back handsprings and back tucks.
Band: We have 35 fifth grade students at Providence who are learning to play band instruments this year. The instruments include a balance of flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, trombones and baritones. The students meet during school 3 times each week for music lessons and to develop playing skills.
Dance: Mrs. Rose teaches ballet to Kindergarten and 1 st grade students and jazz to 2 nd through 5 th grade students after school. Dancers take class one time per week and then participate in the Upper School dance recital at the end of the school year. With or without experience students will grow and learn in these fun, upbeat classes!
