Donna Mathis

Ms. Donna Mathis has been a teacher at Providence School since 2003. She has been a teacher to middle school students in the field of science since 1988 and is encouraged by the changes and growth of students through the middle school design. Ms. Mathis is a Florida State University graduate earning a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She earned her Florida teaching certificate in 1988 and was recently certified by the Association of Christian Schools International.
Ms. Mathis is an active member of the National Middle School Association and the National Science Teacher Association. Her leadership efforts have earned her awards, a grant, and opportunities to speak to educators in other schools and districts. She was the 2005-2006 Middle School Teacher of the Year.
Ms. Mathis attends Beaches United Methodist Church where she is an active member of the contemporary choir and technical crew. Ms. Mathis is a mother of one daughter who is a graduate of Providence and is currently attending college.
