Principal Chris Begley

 

Christopher E. Begley, Principal

Since earning a bachelor's degree from Oral Roberts University, a master's degree from Union College and a specialist's degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University, Christopher has been involved in education for twenty years as a teacher, curriculum director, dean, vice-principal and now principal.

He has used his administrative expertise for the Duval County School Board as program evaluator for director of special programs, as a member of various educational grant writing teams, and as a member of the curriculum development committee. Having an active partnership with the University of North Florida, he was a part-time faculty member, a member of the Strategic Learning Team, and was on the board of directors for the Jacksonville Urban Educational Partnership. He has given numerous area, district, and statewide workshops on integrated learning and curriculum development. Christopher and his wife, Michelle, have two sons who attend Providence School.

 

Dean of Women Kim Stidham

 

Kim Stidham, Assistant Principal of Middle School

Mrs. Stidham, Florida native and graduate of Regent University has her master’s degree in educational leadership. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of North Florida where she earned a bachelor’s degree in both criminology and psychology (with a specialization in behavioral medicine). Following her college graduation, she worked for a private corporation as a fraud/theft investigator. She was recruited by the Department of Juvenile Justice and spent nearly three years working as a Delinquency Case Management Counselor. In 1995, Mrs. Stidham began her teaching career. Since that time, she has worked as a teacher, dean, guidance counselor, and assistant principal. Kimberly and her husband, have two sons who attend Providence School.

 

Dean of Men Dan Coffey

 

Dan Coffey , Assistant Principal of Student Services

Mr. Coffey retired from Georgia Public Schools in 2001, after serving for 30 years as an Administrator, Teacher, and Coach. He received his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and master’s degree in educational leadership from Georgia Southern. Mr. Coffey served for ten years as an assistant principal, and three years as athletic director.

He has had extensive training in evaluation of teachers, media personnel, special education teachers, administrators, guidance, and school staff personnel. Mr. Coffey has served on student support teams, and as a member of numerous board-appointed tribunals. He was a member of the Georgia Association of Educators for 30 years and the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association for 17 years. Mr. Coffey has taught social studies, science, math, and driver education. He has coached football, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls track, softball, and baseball.

Dan and his wife Michelle attend New Life Fellowship Church and have one son who attends Providence School.

 

Director of Guidance Kim Wilkins

 

Kim Wilkins , Assistant Principal of Guidance and Counseling

Since earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, a master’s degree from Wake Forest University, and a second master’s degree from the University of North Florida, Mrs. Wilkins has been actively involved in education for over 12 years by teaching at both the secondary and post-secondary levels.  Mrs. Wilkins has been with Providence since January of 1999 and, as a member of the English Department, has taught at least one year of every level of English from 7-12th grade in the Providence Upper School.  Mrs. Wilkins joined the Providence Guidance Department in the fall of 2002 and began in administration in the fall of 2005.  Mrs. Wilkins is a member in good standing of several professional organizations including the American School Counselors Association, the Florida Counseling Association, and the First Coast Counseling Association.  Kim and her husband, Victor, have one son who attends Providence School and one daughter who attends the University of Florida.

Sharon Rodgers

Sharon Hand Rodgers, Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction

Mrs. Rodgers graduated from Belmont University with a bachelor’s degree in education and from Jacksonville University with a master’s degree in educational leadership.  She taught various grade levels including high school chemistry, physics, biology and calculus.  For the past ten years, Mrs. Rodgers has served as an Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction in the Duval County Public School System.
