100% of our 39 middle school and high school Providence band students prepared, performed, recorded, and met with their judge to complete FBA District 17 Virtual Solo Ensemble on March 26 and 27, 2021. 85% (34 entries) earned SUPERIOR ratings and six students earned Excellent ratings. This level of participation and success is almost unheard of. To God be the glory!
One 6th grade percussionist, Robby Rivera, prepared two solos, one on marimba and one on snare drum. Three high school students (freshman Lindy White, freshman Maya Bhaskar, and sophomore Diya Bhaskar) qualified for state (with a Superior on a grade 5) for the first time.
This past Friday Lindy, Maya, and Diya performed at FBA Virtual State Solo and Ensemble. Lindy White and Diya Bhaskar earned an Excellent rating. Maya Bhaskar earned a SUPERIOR with DISTINCTION, which is earning a Superior while playing your solo from memory.
