Girls Golf Competes at State
The Providence Girls Golf team competed at the FSHAA 1A State Championship this week at Mission Inn Resort, Las Colinas Course. The division, loaded with the top golf academies in Florida and other top regional winners, is the most competitive of all three divisions. After a difficult Round 1, the Lady Stallions dug deep and improved their position in Round 2, finishing 15th overall, just a few spots behind district rival, Bolles, and ahead of district rival, Episcopal. A low score for Providence was shot by Sophomore, Emma Wells, with a score of 164 (88/76). Finishing a close second was Senior Captain, Annabelle Mozingo, with a score of 165 (83/82). The future looks bright for this younger squad with Emma Wells (10th), Ciara Aitkin (10th), Emily Burford (9th), and Jessee Thompson (7th) returning next season. This was the final varsity event for Annabelle Mozingo who will be setting her sights on her future college golf career. #Go Stallions
