Providence COVID Update
There are currently no students quarantining due to school exposure. Please avoid being a COVID-19 superspreader by participating in social gatherings off-campus. Also, remember to contact the school nurse if you’ve been exposed to someone with COVID so that we can give you information on our current protocol. In addition, we are trying to get a flu shot clinic set up at the school but have to get more details prior to confirming. If you have the chance to get your flu shot prior, then please do so as this flu season is expected to be heightened.

Head of School Update
As you have all seen by now, Fletcher has closed school due to cases of COVID-19. As many of you know our students routinely engage with the Fletcher high school students. This is Homecoming weekend and it is rumored there are parties planned. From other school’s experiences we have learned parties are great opportunities for your child to be exposed to COVID-19.

Now is a good time to ask our community to recommit to monitoring your child’s health. Ask them how they are feeling and check their temperatures daily. Perhaps you may consider not allowing you child to attend a party?

If your child has any symptoms associated with COVID-19 please do not send them to school and follow the procedures for online instruction. There are updated procedures for Upper School Temporary Virtual Students that will go in effect Monday, October, 19th. Please review the updated procedures below. The complete policies and procedures have been emailed through FACTS earlier today.

  • The Upper School temporary virtual option is now reserved strictly for students who are sick/quarantined.  Any other reasons must get pre-approval from the principal. Please email the following individuals no later than 7:30 AM that morning:
  • The school nurse will contact each family to discuss symptoms and a return-to-school timeline.
  • Students who choose this option for a given day will not be eligible for athletics or any other after-school activities on that day.

Thank you for helping keep Providence safe. Let’s keep COVID-19 out of our school to the best of our ability.

Sincerely,

Tim M. Anderson, Ph.D.

This will ensure that the pantry is balanced and stocked with everything to help sustain the less fortunate right here in Jacksonville.
