A huge congratulations to the Providence Athletic Department on an incredible achievement in the 2025–26 FHSAA Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup All-Sports Awards!
Providence Athletics continues to “run in such a way as to get the prize” (1 Corinthians 9:24)—and this year’s results are certainly worth celebrating!
🥈 Providence finished 2nd overall
🥇 Girls Athletics finished 1st
🥈 Boys Athletics finished 2nd
And just ONE POINT separated Providence from the overall first-place finish!
The Sunshine Cup recognizes athletic programs based on their success throughout FHSAA State Series competition, making this an incredible reflection of the talent, dedication, teamwork, and excellence demonstrated across our entire athletic program.
Special congratulations to Coach Cantrell on an outstanding first year leading Providence Athletics; Coach Pompeo for his wisdom, guidance, and support throughout last year’s leadership transition; and Coach Bistrow for her continued excellence and leadership.
And to every coach and student-athlete who competed, advanced in postseason play, and brought home STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS—thank you for representing Providence with excellence!
