Why Providence?

It’s a question you’re probably asking yourself right now, and one that anyone on our campus could easily answer. The Providence community is a family.  Because of parents like you who put a value on their child’s education, Providence has become of the leading Christian, college preparatory private schools in Northeast Florida.  We provide a safe, college-preparatory environment that instills Godly values, develops character, and focuses on the academic skills needed to succeed in college and beyond. From individual classroom attention and award winning fine arts to a championship athletic tradition, Providence prepares students to reach their full potential in a distinctly Christian environment.   Students who graduate from Providence are prepared to attend college anywhere, including some of the most prestigious academic institutions of higher learning in the country.

Academic Excellence

In 2017, 100 percent of our graduates were accepted to four-year colleges, universities, and service academies.  As a college-preparatory school, high value is placed on providing each student with a strong foundation for college. Providence offers the tools and support that allows students to achieve their full potential, with many students exceeding their own expectations. We have consistently beaten the state and national averages on rSAT and ACT scores. Our students go to college confident in their abilities to tackle the most challenging problems and ask challenging questions of their own.

“The standard of strong character, hard work, and accountability that Providence expects of its students prepared me for life. Because of Providence, I was able to transition into a student at Duke and feel confident I could handle what was to come.” – Grayson Allen ’14; Duke University. ’18

Christian Community

At Providence, we welcome families from all faith backgrounds. We are “boldly Christian” and the spiritual development of our student is an integral part of the student experience.  We offer meaningful opportunities for students to learn from and be in service to God and others.  Lower School students participate in daily devotions and Bible lessons as well an interactive weekly chapel service.  Upper School students have daily Bible classes as well as student-led chapel services.

“I love coming to a school where I can learn about God.  Everyone here is kind and treats us like family.” – Whitney L. ; Lower School Student

Technology/STEM

Providence School provides a dynamic, collaborative learning environment where students are able to use hands-on experiences and technology to build, create, design, and problem solve.  We recognize that access to technology and STEM in school gives students greater opportunities to learn, engage, communicate, and develop skills that will prepare them for work, life, and citizenship. We are committed to helping students develop skills in 21st Century technology. To that end, we provide access to technologies for student and staff use.

Providence welcomes students in 9th-12 grade to bring their technology with them to school. Students in Kindergarten – 8th grade have access to mobile labs utilizing Lenovo tablets.  The Lower School stem lab is a favorite resource for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.  These students ultiize the Finch and Hummingbird Robotics in the Technology Lab featuring a variety of captivating learning activities.

Outside the Classroom

There is something for everyone at Providence.  Whether a students’ talents include scoring a touchdown, a knack for computer graphics, singing, drawing, dancing, or a scientist’s curiosity.  Providence helps them discover and nurture those areas of greatest potential.  How do we do that?  By surrounding each individual with loving, caring faculty who mentor students and provide Godly role models in these areas.  From our championship athletic program to our award-wining fine arts program and over 50 clubs, Providence students are given a broad range of opportunities for personal growth and character development.

“Providence is a great school to grow in and what I appreciate the most is that you are encouraged to be yourself.  The student body is one BIG FAMILY.”  – Kinle P.; University of Alabama

Academic Support

At Providence, our goal is to equip students to live extraordinary lives for Jesus Christ. The academic support lab instructors collaborate with teachers, parents, and students to identify and address the needs of our students. They provide recommendations for support outside of the classroom and serve as a liaison between academic coaches, tutors, teachers, and parents. We believe that each student is unique and learn differently.  We work to create a plan tailored to fit each student.
