Mrs. Pellegrino-Yokitis’ 11th Grade AP U.S. History (APUSH) students recently stepped outside the classroom for a visit to historic Kingsley Plantation. During their field trip, students explored the history of the plantation home and learned about the Native Americans and enslaved individuals who once lived on the property.

This hands-on learning experience gave students a deeper understanding of Northeast Florida’s rich and complex history while connecting classroom lessons to the people, places, and events that shaped our nation.
