The Providence Stallions boys’ basketball program is back on top of Florida high school basketball. Under the leadership of legendary head coach Jim Martin, the Stallions captured the 2026 FHSAA Class 2A Boys Basketball State Championship, marking the program’s first state title in 11 years and adding another historic chapter to one of the most respected basketball programs in the state.

For Coach Martin, the championship is yet another milestone in an extraordinary career. Widely regarded as one of the most accomplished high school basketball coaches in Florida, Martin now boasts more than 665 career victories, a testament to decades of excellence, leadership, and commitment to developing young athletes both on and off the court.

With the 2026 title, the Providence program has now secured four state championships under Coach Martin’s leadership — 2010, 2013, 2015, and 2026. Each title reflects the culture of discipline, teamwork, and competitive excellence that has become synonymous with Providence basketball.

The victory also carries special significance for the Jacksonville basketball community. This championship marks the first time in a decade that a coach from Jacksonville has led a team to a state title, further cementing Providence’s place as one of the premier programs in the region.

Beyond the high school program, Coach Martin’s impact on the game extends throughout Northeast Florida through his leadership of two highly respected training programs — the Jacksonville Basketball Academy and Above Basketball Academy. These academies have helped develop countless young players while strengthening the basketball culture across the Jacksonville area.

With the 2026 title now secured, Providence basketball has officially returned to the top of the Jacksonville basketball landscape. The Stallions’ championship season will be remembered as a year defined by resilience, leadership, and the continuation of a remarkable legacy built by Coach Jim Martin.

Congratulations to Coach Martin, the coaching staff, and the Providence Stallions on an incredible 2026 state championship season. The Stallions are once again champions of Florida — and proudly back on top in Jacksonville. 🏆🏀
