Academic/Enrichment Camps

Kindergarten Readiness is a camp designed to introduce incoming/rising kindergarten students to kindergarten. Students will enjoy beginning reading and phonics activities as we immerse the students in great children’s literature. The children will read, write, count, dance, sing, craft, and play. The camp will simulate an abbreviate kindergarten day in order to acclimate your child to the kindergarten classroom.
Please bring a lunch and a drink each day.
Please bring a pencil box with: 1 glue stick, 1 bottle of liquid glue, 2 sharpened pencils with erasers, 1 pair of scissors, and 1 box of 24 crayons as well as 1 watercolor paint set.

Current Kindergarten through current 5th grade students become STEAM adventurers for this week of camp as we unpack the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics in their Summer Adventure storybooks. Each day will feature a new story with STEAM activities and projects for the adventures to explore. Students will need to bring a water bottle, snack, and lunch every day.

This is a great opportunity for your child to find out what dance classes they are interested in without spending hundreds of dollars. Classes will be taught by Providence Dance Company members under the direction of Providence Dance Director, Jessica Gartner. They will be taught ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, lyrical, modern, musical theatre, creative movement, and acro. A performance for parents will be held on the last day. Must register by May 16th to receive camp t-shirt.

Come join Mrs. Green, Mrs. Koenig, and become part of the extraordinary TOP CHEF summer team for four days to ponder and explore the exciting world of cooking! We will learn about kitchen safety, proper food handling, food preparation, following recipes, and various cooking/baking techniques. Chefs will design their own apron and recipe book. Each day specific skills and techniques will be taught while following a delicious recipe.

Band Students from rising 6th graders (with instrumental music experience) through rising 9th graders are invited to strengthen musical fundamentals through hands-on activities like bucket drumming, melodica playing, large instrumental ensembles, and more. Some rising 10th-12th graders may also be invited to participate as helpers. Students will also get to playgroup and teamwork games that will forge relationships with other band members from the Jacksonville area.

Providence Head Basketball Coach Jim Martin is heading up his JBA Summer Camps! This a great opportunity to get BETTER this offseason and prepare for next year’s school season. Camps will focus on fundamentals with skills and drills for players to take home and work on their own, Hot Shot shooting competition & Free Throw Shooting competitions, and 5 on 5 scrimmages to help develop basketball IQ. Head Varsity Coach, Gigi Bistrow has been the Lady Stallion coach since the inception of the school. This is the 24th year of Lady Stallion Basketball Camp. No matter your skill level there is a place for you. Fundamentals are emphasized and campers are put into groups according to their ability. If you want to work hard, improve on your fundamentals and have fun playing basketball—don’t miss Lady Stallion Camp. Each day will stress instruction and play utilizing the time spent at camp for the development of each campers’ individual skills as well as teaching team concepts.
