Prov Band Students Perform in All-District and All-State Bands
Over the past few weeks several of our Providence Stallion Band Members have earned the privilege of performing at the state and area levels. Sophomore clarinetist, Natalie Johnson, earned a spot in the the 9th and 10th grade All-State Concert Band. On January 14th she performed in Tampa with other students from across the state. Making this band takes a ton of work. This is the second time Natalie has earned a spot in the band and she is only the second student in the history of Providence to earn a spot in an all-state band.
Ten of our Providence students were selected for the Duval/Nassau Honor Bands, making our representation among the highest from any school. Percussionist-Robby Rivera, Clarinetist-Stella Vizzini, and Clarinetist-Charlotte Smith were in the Middle School Honor Band under the Direction of Dr. Tremon Kizer from UCF. Alto Saxophonist-Austin Stang, Clarinetist-Gavin Cox, Trumpeter-Maya Bhaskar, Trumpeter-Spencer Maerkl, and Trombonist-Bianca Solano were in the High School Nomination Honor Band directed by Ms. Kelly Dorsey. Flutist-Diya Bhaskar and Clarinetist-Natalie Johnson performed in the High School Band under the direction of the nationally renowned Dr. Peter Boonshaft. These students performed a beautiful concert at Atlantic Coast High School on Saturday, January 28th. Congratulations to these amazing Providence musicians!
