The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

The third graders enjoyed reading The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. This novel is about a Christmas play that has been hijacked by the Herdman children, a ragtag group of six siblings who basically raise themselves while their single mom struggles to make ends meet by working two jobs. As Christian parents and teachers, we want not just to teach them the facts of the story, but to help them to truly understand how Jesus’ birth changes individuals. Our students learned that even when we make mistakes, Jesus loves us unconditionally. As Gladys would say, “Shazaam! …Unto you a child is born.”  Merry Christmas from your third-grade team!
