Band Earns Highest Rating at District, Qualifies for State!

On February 29and March 1, 2024 the Providence Concert Band (primarily 6th and 7th graders) and Providence Wind Ensemble (advanced band) participated in the Florida Bandmasters Association District 17 Concert Music Performance Assessment. Mr. Maerkl chose to take the Concert Band for comments only, but all the judges agreed that the band looked and sounded fantastic!

The Wind Ensemble earned the highest rating of SUPERIOR from all three stage judges and from the sight-reading judge. This is the second year in school history, AND THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, that Providence has earned top marks. We have started a tradition of excellence! Surely, God’s blessings and favor are upon us. To Him be the glory!

With the successful performance by the Wind Ensemble, they qualify to perform at State on May 2nd at FSU!

Congratulations to all the Providence Band members!
