Digital Arts

Creating innovative art...

through digital technology.

The digital media program gives students exposure to the world of production through graphic design, video production, photography, and recording arts.  Students learn to produce short films, record soundtracks, and work in a collaborative environment that builds the foundational base for a future in digital arts.

Band

Concert Band

The band program at Providence is always growing.  Our band represents our school in performances both on and off campus. They also come together with our drum line and Stallionettes in the fall to form our marching band, the Providence Stallion Brigade. The Stallion Brigade had an outstanding 2017 season competing in the Florida Marching Band Championship regional competition. At the Jacksonville University Marching Invitational, they came in best in class for the visual caption. The group also earned second in class overall and Superior drum major.

Middle School Band

Middle School Exploratory Band is open to Upper School students who would like to begin learning an instrument. Students will, with the director’s help, choose from Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Baritone, Trombone, Tuba or Percussion. After a year in one of these beginning classes, students are able to play in our Concert Band or Wind Ensemble.  Students may also audition to be a part of the Jazz Ensemble.

Drumline

In addition to the all the ensembles mentioned, the band program also boasts an exciting Winter Drumline that lends musical support to our basketball teams and a Winter Guard team made up of Stallionette members. Last spring our Winter Guard earned the highest possible ratings of Superior at State MPA.

Competitions

Our bands participate in the Florida Bandmasters Association’s Music Performance Assessments (MPA’s) such as Marching MPA, Solo and Ensemble, and Concert MPA. These events inspire excellence, as we prepare music for adjudication. Our students routinely earn Excellent and Superior ratings. Our performance at FBA District Marching MPA this year was record setting. The band was awarded an overall Excellent rating, earning Superior in the Visual and General Effect captions for the first time in school history!  We also received Excellent ratings from both Music judges, Excellent in Percussion, and a Superior in Auxiliary.
