Student Life
This is the place where...
memories are made.
Life as a Stallion is exciting! We want our students to get the most out of their school experience and there are so many ways to do it. Providence offers over 45 social clubs and organizations, a championship athletic program plus an array of award-winning fine arts programs. In addition, we provide academic resources to help students succeed in school and college. From the day they step on campus, the Stallion experience creates opportunities that last a lifetime.
Student Life
Homecoming
Homecoming is one of our favorite traditions. Spirit week is a great week leading up to the football game and dance. Our students dress down, enjoy games, a parade, spirited competitions between grades and the faculty even get in on the action. It is a great opportunity for students, parents, and alumni to spend time together and cheer on the Stallions!
50’s Day
Start your engines! On the 50th day of school, our Kindergarten classes celebrate by dressing up in costumes from the ’50s, making cars and driving them to the drive-in movie. This is just one of the extraordinary adventures that happen in the Lower School. Middle and High school students enjoy this event as they often parade through the hallways showing off their cars and outfits!
Veterans Day
Jacksonville is a military community and at Providence, we LOVE our country! We celebrate America in many different ways throughout the year. The middle and high school choir students put on an incredible show for our veterans with a live orchestra and a special reception in their honor. This community event is very special to all of us at Providence.
Stallion Stampede
The Stallion Stampede is an annual spring event where we let off a little steam and enjoy some friendly competition before the school year ends. One of our seniors said it was like a big outdoor birthday party and the entire school was invited! The lower school students love it because the “big kids” mentor them for a few weeks leading up to the Stampede. It’s a great time for everyone and the money raised is used in many significant ways to improve our campus.
Red Shirt Fridays
Each month, we honor our troops by wearing red shirts to honor and pray for the troops that are serving our country not only here but around the world. Being a military town is a fringe benefit as we have the opportunity to hear from some of our servicemen and women. Some of whom also happen to be parents and part of our Providence community. This is a special treat for our students.
Fall Festival
This annual tradition is by far one of the largest community events held on campus, cementing the sense of community felt by families, alumni, and friends. The Fall Festival offers activities for children of all ages — crafts, hayrides, obstacle courses, a petting zoo, face painting, carnival games and rides, delicious food, and a DJ with karaoke. It‘s a wonderful event that features something for everyone from preschool to high school.
Providence Strong
Building strong relationships across all school divisions is one of the unique characteristics of Providence. Our students enjoy mentoring the younger students and are encouraged to do so. Several times a year, students visit our lower school and preschool. This means so much to our younger students and is something everyone looks forward to and makes our student body Providence Strong.
Bahamas Outreach
Our entire Providence community enjoys being the hands and feet of Jesus. After the Bahamas were devastated by a hurricane, our families joined together and filled a semi-trailer truck full of supplies. Not only did a Providence family donate the truck to fill, but they also transported it down to south Florida to be shipped over to the families in the Bahamas. This is an example of one of the many outreaches our student body participates in each year.
See You At The Pole
We start each school year out with a time of worship and prayer. Our parents and students join together with other schools and students around the country to pray over the upcoming school year. See You At The Pole is a national event that the school hosts annually and everyone is welcome. Our students lead worship, followed by a time of prayer together.
