to succeed in today's world.
Providence has a long history of using technology to enhance the learning process. Our philosophy is rooted in the idea that technology, when used appropriately and responsibly, can yield great benefits. Technology is an integral component of our global community, and students must be adept at using these tools while developing critical thinking and analytical skills.
Providence is proud to offer its students and faculty access to an impressive array of technological resources to support the curriculum and generate enthusiasm as well as meaningful learning experiences across all subject areas and disciplines.
The school will be offering Surface tablet education bundles for Providence families. For more information, see the Surface Education Bundle tab below.
In Kindergarten through 5th grade, classroom tablets are integrated into instruction via mobile labs for small group activity, centers, and integrated lessons.
Students in 6th-12th grades participate in our BYOD program. With this robust 1:1 experience, students have access to their digital textbooks, electronic note-taking, cloud storage and cloud computing, various apps, and other tools, allowing them to become true 21st-century learners; they engage with information, with their peers, and with the faculty in new and exciting ways every day.
For more information about our BYOD program, visit the BYOD resource page.
An Acceptable Use Policy must be read and signed by all students and their parents in order for network and Internet access to be granted. We consistently provide a safe, efficient, ethical, and legal utilization of the network, resources, and Internet in the school.
Families will be able to purchase discounted bundle deals on Surface tablets though the school.
Included in the bundle:
- A Surface device (contact the school for device specs)
- A Surface keyboard cover
- A 3-year accidental damage protection (ADP) plan that covers 2 claims
Accessories such as stylus pens and cases can be purchased at a variety of locations as needed. See the Tablet Care page for information on how to protect your device.
For device and purchasing details, contact the school at firstname.lastname@example.org.
While technology on campus is vital, it reaches well beyond the classroom. Tablets travel with the students, digital textbooks and resources are available anywhere and anytime, and cloud computing is ubiquitous. Moreover, our portals keep students and parents informed by providing them with access to school information, including homework, assignments, student grades, and school news. All teachers communicate regularly with parents via email. While email is not intended to replace the personal communication, it is an excellent tool to support the flow of information from the school to the home and from the home to the school.
Interactive whiteboards, projectors, Mimios, and document cameras are integrated in our classroom settings and build even more dynamic multimedia learning environments. Software and on-line curricular components are adopted and updated regularly to support coursework from the most advanced high school courses to math and reading programs in the early childhood levels.
