5th Grade Rocket Launch
Mrs. Popp’s fifth-grade science students had a “blast” launching model rockets during “Rocket Launch Day” this week. Students had the opportunity to build and launch their own Estes model rocket as part of our unit on Flight and Rocketry. This year we had high school physics students join us to gather flight data off our rocket altimeters. A big “Thank You” to the Crumpler Family for donating rocket kits to our science program and helping sponsor the launch day activities. Go Rocketeers!

4th Grade Moon Project
The fourth grade students have been studying a chapter on the moon. In this chapter, they have learned about the moon’s properties, including the moon’s light, surface, movement, phases, eclipses, and the origins of the moon. While they were studying the moon’s surface, our fourth graders researched, planned, and constructed models of the lunar surface. The students had a great time working on their moon models. As our fourth grade students learned about the origins of the moon, they discussed how God was there when the moon was created by examining Genesis 1:14-19 and the fourth day of creation. It was a lesson on faith, realizing that Christians have their faith first and foremost in God and His Word.

Kidz Xtreme Pop Tart & Capri Sun Drive
We are blessed and honored to join hands and hearts with KidzXtreme.  KidzXtreme Ministry blesses those children who live in at-risk communities and bring the light and love of God.  They feed, encourage, and mentor children in communities that have suffered multi-generations of hardships. We want to partner with this wonderful organization and have our students be the hands and feet of Christ. The KidzXtreme Ministry gives out snacks and drinks to the kids, especially on the weekends when they may not have any food. If you and your family feel led to help this ministry, we will be doing a Pop-Tart and Capri Sun Juice box drive during the month of February.  Your child may bring in these items anytime.  The patrols will be happy to take these donations from you at carline. We will make sure that these items get delivered to this ministry. Thank you for helping us instill in our students a love of serving and giving.
