Author Visits Lower School

Because of our Stallion Annual fundraiser, we had a fantastic guest join us! Someone who brought stories to life with both words and pictures! Author and illustrator Shanda McCloskey!

Shanda is the creative mind behind wonderful books like, Doll-E 1.0 and T-Bone the Drone. Her stories blend imagination, technology, and adventure, inspiring young readers to think creatively and dream big. As both a writer and an artist, she brings her characters to life in a way that makes reading extra exciting!

The students were overjoyed to meet her and learn some tricks of the trade. Some randomly selected fourth and fifth-graders even had a luncheon with her.

Shanda left some advice for aspiring authors and illustrators: “you will write beautiful stories and draw amazing pictures, but you will also write bad stories and draw pictures that aren’t your best… and that’s normal! Do not give up. Keep writing and keep drawing!”
