For the safety of our students, we are announcing a change in afternoon Carline procedures for students in grades 6-12 effective Monday. We are no longer allowing parents to park to pick up. We cannot have students crossing through the parking lot and travel lanes to find their parents. Instead, all parents need to pick up in the official Carline lanes.
Parents can use both lanes in front of the school coming from the traffic light at the North entrance as well as the one lane that loops in front of the school from the South entrance by the Storehouse. Please see the attached map for clarification. Once your child has gotten in the car with you, you may use the bypass lane to exit campus.
Since this may be a change to your family’s original routine, please speak with your child about which lane you are planning to use so your child can find you quickly. When selecting your lane, please be mindful of which side of the car your child will be entering so they are not walking around your car into traffic.
If you know your child will be slower exiting the building (due to time at lockers, speaking with teachers, LS sibling pickup, etc.), please feel free to delay your arrival on campus until closer to 3:30 to avoid excess time waiting and traffic.
We understand that this may initially cause some added congestion or inconvenience. However, we believe that your child’s safety is the top priority.
As a final reminder, Lower School Carline is from 2:55 to 3:05 each day. Please do not come on campus to pick up your US student until 3:05 at the very earliest (or 2:35 on early release Wednesdays).
