Superior Performances by Providence Band Members

On February 16th and 17th Providence hosted over 500 students from 21 schools for the Florida Bandmasters Association’s District 17 Jazz/Solo & Ensemble/Auxiliary Music Performance Assessment. Not only were we given many compliments on how kind and helpful our students and parents were as hosts, but our students performed well also.

The Jazz Ensemble earned a SUPERIOR rating for the fourth time in school history and the THIRD YEAR IN A ROW! To God be the Glory!

48 students played solos and 38 achieved the highest rating of Superior. Six of those superiors qualified for state, by being in High School and earning a superior on a difficulty level 5 or higher. Those students are Maya Bhaskar, Jaylen Wilkerson, Spencer Maerkl, Natalie Johnson, Lucas Ghali, and Robby Rivera.

This comes off a very successful January where we had ten students in the Duval/Nassau Honor Band (Natalie Johnson, Spencer Maerkl, Maya Bhaskar, Robby Rivera, Stella Vizzini, Jeremy Rice, Bianca Solano, John Joudi, Felipe Pincelli, and Charlotte Smith) and one student in the ALL-STATE BAND (Charlotte Smith).

Congratulations to all of these talented and hard-working band students!
