Welcome Maurice Williams, our new Head Football Coach!

The Providence School is pleased to announce Maurice C. Williams as the new Head Coach of our Providence Stallions football team. Coach Williams lent his coaching expertise to the Providence football program as an assistant coach from 2013-2017 and will once again bring his knowledge and passion for football and his love of the Lord to The Providence School.
Coach Williams began his outstanding football career at Pershing High School in Detroit, where The University of Michigan Wolverines recruited him in 1997. During his senior year, Coach Williams became a starter for the Michigan Wolverines and earned All-Big Ten Conference, Honorable Mention. In 2001, Maurice Williams was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He retired in 2009 after starting over 100 games for the Jacksonville Jaguars. After retiring from the NFL, Coach Williams continues his involvement with the Jacksonville Jaguars by serving as their Chaplain allowing him to share the love of Christ with the players, coaches, and families.
Coach Williams and his wife, Reulonda, have been married 17 years, and they have four sons Mason, Myles, Maxx, and Roman. The Williams Family are active members at Celebration Church where Coach Williams serves as a licensed pastor. This spring, he will complete his Master of Divinity from Liberty University.
Coach Williams will begin working with the Providence football program now while finishing his duties with Jacksonville Jaguar this season. He will assume full football responsibilities on July 1, 2022. Coach Williams will also teach a senior Bible class beginning in the 2022-2023 academic school year.
