Intellectual & Emotional Development

Our Middle School curriculum compliments the rapid intellectual and emotional development of our students by providing a thoughtfully measured transition between the discipline of early learning and the rigorous pace of advanced study. They are also exploring extracurricular opportunities through athletics, fine arts, and clubs.

Curriculum Overview

The Middle School focuses on the development of the whole child through a rich and challenging curriculum that balances traditional and innovative teaching methods. Teachers build study strategies as they incorporate technology, experiential learning, and critical thinking skills into the daily curriculum. The goal is to prepare students for a seamless transition to high school – and for their lives beyond.

Core Curriculum

English

Students are taught ELA through experiences with literature, vocabulary, written expression, grammar, speaking, and listening.

Math

Students learn foundational skills as well as procedural and conceptual understanding with a variety of real-world and mathematical problems.

Science

Students have a blast using critical thinking skills while learning about life science, earth and space science, and physical science through a Biblical worldview.

Social Studies

Students learn about the contribution of different world cultures, the history of the United States, and the functions of the government through reading, analysis, and inquiry.

Bible

Each day students study the Bible including the Old and New Testaments, understanding the nature of God, and how to understand a Christian worldview.

Foreign Languages

Students are offered the option to explore foreign languages as well as take Spanish or French for high school credit.

Health & PE

Students take physical education all three years of middle school including the HOPE course required for high school graduation.

Enrichment Learning

Fine Arts

From award-winning dance and musical theatre to marching band and visual arts, students have the opportunity to explore their God-given talents and abilities.

Electives

Students have the opportunity to learn about digital design, coding and robotics, leadership, and more.

Athletics

Athletics are an important part of any adolescent experience – from learning new physical skills and sportsmanship to simply enjoying the thrill of activity and competition.

Robotics

Students explore the created world and develop 21st-century skills through robotics and coding, 3D design, community-oriented projects, and more.
